Arthur “Jerry” Kremer is a partner and chair of the Municipal and Regulatory Affairs Department at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek. He is also a member of the firm’s Corporate & Securities Department and Energy Group.
As the head of the Municipal and Regulatory Affairs Department, Mr. Kremer continues his active involvement in behalf of clients with matters at the federal, state and local level. In addition, he acts as bond counsel to a number of municipal entities and handles zoning and land use cases. Having been deeply involved in state government, Mr. Kremer represents clients as lobbying counsel and in appearances before legislative bodies.
Mr. Kremer has enjoyed a long and distinguished career not only in law, but also in government. A 23-year veteran of the New York State Assembly, he was the only Long Island legislator to ever head the prestigious Ways and Means Committee. He served in that post for 12 years, and served by appointment of the Governor on the Metropolitan Transportation Authority's Capital Review Board and the Public Authorities Control Board.
During his tenure in Albany, Mr. Kremer also served as Chair of the Committee on Corporations where he was involved with corporate structure and energy issues. He has represented a large number of Fortune 500 companies in complex matters and has handled zoning and land use cases in Nassau and Suffolk counties. He serves as government relations counsel to Canon USA, New York State Bowling Proprietor's Association,
Bus Association of New York State, Debt Buyer Association, Jetro
Wholesaler Foods and Town of North Hempstead.
In addition, as Special Counsel to the Long Island Power Authority, Mr. Kremer has litigated all of the major cases from the Supreme Court to the Court of Appeals, and he was actively involved in the Power Authority’s takeover of LILCO. Mr. Kremer is an accomplished litigator, having handled a number of high profile cases, including the successful Federal court challenge to the Nassau County smoking ban.
Mr. Kremer maintains an active role in many key Long Island organizations. He is a Trustee of Hofstra University; a member of the Board of Overseers of the Tilles Center
for the Performing Arts, and has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Long Island Association. Since 1991, he has chaired the annual Fair Media Council luncheon honoring outstanding achievements by the media. Mr. Kremer is also Chairman of the Young People's Chorus of New York City, a 300 member youth chorus
which has won the International prize for choral groups in British Columbia and have performed frequently at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and the White House.
He is a Past President of the Brooklyn Law School Alumni Association. In addition, Mr. Kremer is a Colonel (Ret.) in the New York State Guard.
He is Chair of the New York Affordable Reliable Electricity Alliance
which advocates positions on key energy issues.
As an extension of his professional life for the past year, Mr. Kremer
has served on the Committee on Professionalism in the Law by appointment of the Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals. He also is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

fifteen years and appears regularly on the Fox network
and Cablevision. Mr. Kremer also authors a weekly column on political topics for Long Island Business News;
the Herald newspaper chain and the Long Island Jewish World.
He is the author of numerous articles on government reorganization, budget issues and
federal and state regulatory matters. |
