Ruskin Moscou Faltischek Recognized for Pro Bono Work
on Behalf of Yeshiva University
Uniondale, Long Island, New York,
January 27, 2010 - Ruskin Moscou Faltischek,
P.C. announced today that Yeshiva University, in its
2008/2009 Report on Philanthropy, gratefully recognized the
Firm for its role as a significant provider of pro bono
legal services to the university during 2009
Ruskin Moscou Faltischek
partner Benjamin Weinstock,
co-chair of the Firm's Real Estate Department, is a member
of the Yeshiva University General Counsel's Council, an
assemblage of law firms that assists
the university with advice and the provision of pro bono
legal services. Mr. Weinstock is also an alumnus of the
school.
The specific initiative undertaken by Ruskin Moscou Faltischek
involved conducting an in-depth analysis of the laws
governing tax exemptions for "ancillary use" properties
owned by Yeshiva. As a result of the research and analysis
provided by RMF, Yeshiva University is now able to take
advantage of real estate tax exemptions it had not
previously enjoyed.
Weinstock,
in a career spanning three decades, has
handled real estate transactions from the basic to
the highly complex. His knowledge and skill place him among
the most respected and sought-after real estate lawyers in
the region. In recognition of his knowledge and
contributions to the real estate industry, Governor Pataki
named Weinstock to the prestigious New York State Real
Estate Board, where he was elected Secretary. He is one of
only 13 real estate experts from across the state to serve
on the Board. He is a
resident of Cedarhurst, New York.
For 40 years,
Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, headquartered in Uniondale, has
built a reputation as one of the region's leading providers
of innovative legal services. Its attorneys are practical,
experienced advocates who measure their success
by their clients' success. Cornerstone groups in all major
practice areas of the law are represented at the
firm, including corporate & securities, financial services,
commercial litigation, intellectual property, health care,
real estate, employment and trusts & estates. Clients
include large and mid-sized corporations, privately held
businesses, institutions and individuals.
